Transport Spokeswoman Unconvinced On Heathrow Plan

Breaking News

Jill Seymour MEP says there is scope for expansion at existing regional airports.

Speaking on the third runway at Heathrow, UKIP transport spokesman Jill Seymour said, "I've never been convinced by the plan for a third runway at Heathrow - and it is likely that air travellers will be paying the price for it through rising ticket costs. While there is scope for expansion at many existing airports in the UK, it seems wrong to me that communities around Heathrow should be decimated for its own gain. Historical buildings and land can never be replaced; nor can villages which will be split in half. There will also be much more disruption around the M25 corridor once the runway is under construction. This is a missed opportunity for some of the economic benefits to be shared around other parts of the country."
