Candidate Selection

  1. Becoming a UKIP candidate is one of the most important things you can do for our party.
  2. Candidates must request an application form from their Regional Officers, National Campaign Manager or by email to candidates@ukip.org. It doesn’t matter if you’ve stood before. If you haven’t been vetted since January 2021 then you need to complete an application.
  3. Once successfully vetted, candidates should contact their Local Branch/Regional Officers to apply to stand in a chosen area.
  4. When you're adopted by a branch, the campaign begins!
  5. Candidates should ensure Nomination Forms are completed correctly before obtaining the signature of their Local Nominating Officer.
  6. Candidates should ensure that they allow themselves good time before submitting Nomination Forms to their respective Local Authority. You can normally book an appointment to check the forms prior to submission.
  7. There is no cost to stand as a local council candidate. Deposits only apply for Assembly, Parliamentary, Police & Crime Commissioner and Mayoral Seats.
  8. Campaign, Campaign, CAMPAIGN!
